The m/v Sea Lion (mv-SeaLion.com) is a private motor yacht. This is a very simple web site of the type that can be classified as a vanity site.
Although it contains several hundred photos, the mv-sealion.com web site itself is really only one page; the home page. All the photos are in flickr albums. A link to one or more blogs for trips which are hosted on a free external service such as blogspot could easily be added.
This is a good example of a web site for a private boat which can be set up so that the boat owner can do almost all the web site maintenance themself because the photos are maintained on a photo sharing service. The only thing that they would need technical support for is to add or remove links as they add or remove photo albums.
The graphics for the home page are very striking. The boat illustration was done by Uko Gorter, a natural history artist, which we slightly modified to fit this application. The formline sea lions that are in the water are from photographs of sea lion carvings done in wood by Odin Lonning, Tlingit artist. The photographs were taken into a photoshop style graphic editing program, changed to monochrome, and then colored to match the water.
